Top 3 Things to Check Before Traveling

Holidays are in full swing and so are the road trips! With this being one of the busiest times for traveling on the roads, taking care of your vehicle should be a top priority to make sure you and your loved ones get to your destination safely. We at Larry H Miller Liberty Toyota have put together a short check list of the top "to-do" to get your road trip off to a smooth start.

1. Basic Vehicle Checkup. Call you local Toyota dealer and schedule an appointment to have a check up done on your vehicle. Be sure to have wipers and fluids checked by the Service Department and get the oil changed if needed. Keeping these basics checked will help your vehicle's reliability on the road.

2. Check your tires. Before you put the rubber to the road, check those tires to make sure they are in driving shape. Do you know what to look for? Inspect the thread to be sure there is enough left on the tire for long periods of travel. See any tears or bulging? Get them changed out at your local dealership. Make sure the air pressure is set to your owner's manual suggestion - too much air and too little air will cause a tougher drive.

3. Emergency Check! Whether you are city driving or heading out to the country, be sure to always plan ahead for any issues that may arise. Some emergency items to make sure are in your vehicle are: water, blankets, jumper cables, flares, snacks, and a flashlight.

Be safe out there while you travel and have a holiday season!

Toyota's 100 Cars for Good

One of the focuses of Toyota is to give back to community. We support many organizations and community causes and one dear to our heart is Toyota’s 100 Cars for Good. In 2012, Toyota gave 100 cars or trucks to non-profits across the United States. 2013 is no different. From now through November 19, you can be part of this good deed by voting for your favorite non-profit organization.

Social Media for Non-Profits

100 Cars for Good is a great example of how Social media has been utilized to promote and support local and national organizations. “All voters have to do is log in to their Facebook profile and use the 100 Cars for Good app to vote for the two organizations they want to support that day. Each afternoon, the previous day's winners are announced and a fresh batch of five finalist organizations will be ready to compete for votes. Vote every day, because each vote counts and each day brings another two cars to deserving organizations.”

So go and be part of this good deed. Vote in 100 Cars for Good but also be part of a local non-profit organization in your community.
